Most estate sale companies charge a % based on sales and maybe have a minimum fee. Some high- ticket items like Boats and cars may be charge a lower % or even a flat fee. The same for other high price items such as certain collectibles and paintings may get a lower % also.
San Antonio Estate Sales LLC charges a % based on expected sales and the work involved. Our fees also take into consideration the labor hours to be used and if there is big stuff that will need to be donated. In many of our sales we will have a commission rate of 30-40% with a minimum fee of $1,500-$2,500.
The client can cancel which means they pay for all expenses incurred including advertising, permits and labor at $20 hourly. This is to prevent a client from having us doing all the hard work and then decide to take over the sale, so they won’t have to pay a commission. If they do this, they are still liable for our expenses even if their sales fall short of that total.
